Persian Appetizer

Instructions:

Dissolve sugar and yeast in cup warm water until foamy.

Combine flour, yeast mixture, turmeric, salt, pepper, 3 tbsp oil and remaining warm water in a large bowl. Knead by hand until smooth and satiny. Sprinkle oil in the bowl and Shape dough into a ball. Cover and let rest for 1 hour in a warm place until doubled.

After 1 hour, add onion mixture with dough and knead well.

Grease mold with butter and place dough in it. Cover loosely with a towel for 30 minutes. Let rise until swollen.

Preheat oven on 350 ‘F/180’C.

Bake the bread in the center of the oven for 40 to 50 minutes until done and golden.

Put the bread on a rack to cool, and let cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting.
